Economic and Community Development
What We Do
The primary goal of the Orange Community Development Department is to be proactive in shaping the future of Orange while preserving and enhancing the Town's character. This goal supports the strength and vitality of Orange's people, culture, and natural resources. It fosters the unique character of our residents, neighborhoods, and builds upon Orange residents' deep sense of commitment to their community.
On a day-to-day basis, the Community Development Department is responsible for coordinating and directing all community development and planning activities in Town, and serves as staff support to several Town departments, boards, committees, and community organizations.
Working with these boards, committees, and departments, the Community Development Department reviews development plans, aid with long-range planning efforts, provides technical advice to citizens and Town staff, and applies for grants to support community development-related activities in Town.
