The Orange Planning Board seeks to make informed decisions on critical issues that will affect Orange residents’ quality of life and the future of the Town.
An issue of current interest to many Orange residents is what impact Short-Term Rentals (STRs), such as those advertised through Airbnb.com and similar websites, might have on the Town’s environment, property values, and lifestyle. Short-Term Rentals offer a valuable opportunity for visitors to Orange to stay and enjoy everything our region has to offer. However, we don't want to dismiss the legitimate concerns that neighbors and Orange residents can have regarding issues such as noise, parking, safety, and legality of Short-Term Rentals.
Therefore, the Planning Board is conducting this survey to gauge the benefits and downsides of Short-Term Rentals in Orange and develop an effective approach to ensure that Short-Term Rentals can operate legally, in a manner that provides a positive experience for neighbors, and safe, enjoyable housing for renters.
You may be assured that your input will remain totally anonymous. This survey does not collect your name, street address, phone number, email address, or any other personally identifiable information.
