The Annual Town Election will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024.
If you are interested in running for an office now is the time to step up and help the town. The following positions will be on the ballot: 2 members of the Selectman for 3 years, Moderator for 1 year, Board of Health for 3 years, 1 member of the Elementary School Committee for 3 years, 1 member of the Elementary School Committee for 2 years, 2 members of the Regional School Committee for 3 years, 2 Library Trustees for 3 years, 1 Library Trustee for 1 year, Water Commissioner for 3 years, Water Commissioner for 2 years, Cemetery Commissioner for 3 years, Cemetery Commissioner for 2 years, Trustee of Soldiers’ Memorials – Veteran – 3 years, Trustee of Soldiers’ Memorials – Non-veteran – 3 years, Housing Authority for 4 years.
Nomination papers will be available beginning on November 1, 2023, and must be obtained by December 14, 2023. Only a registered voter can run for office and once they have obtained the nomination papers, they must have the papers signed by a minimum of 27 registered voters. Once the signatures are obtained, the nomination papers must be returned to the Town Clerk’s office by December 18, 2023.
