Sharps Container Exchange Program

The Orange Board of Health accepts sealed sharps containers for exchange at 62 Cheney Street offices. Please call ahead to schedule a drop off time. Residents may receive 1 new container in exchange, free of charge. This program is for residential use only.

Call 978-544-1107 to schedule a sharps exchange in Orange. You must be a resident of a member town to use the Orange, MA sharps program.

Member Towns and Sharps Disposal Program Details are as follows:

  • The Solid Waste District provides free one quart or one gallon sharps boxes to residents who use needles and lancets. 
  • Once a sharps box is full, you can bring it to one of eight Franklin County locations, and pick up an empty sharps box to take home.

  • There is no charge to residents for use of the program. You may use whichever collection site is most convenient for you.
