*Hunters must show one of the following to obtain a hunting or sporting license:
  • a previous hunting license
  •  Certificate of Competency from a government-issued certificate of completion from a basic hunter education course
**Minors between age of 15-17 must give a written consent of a parent or guardian and comply with one of the following three requirements:
  • Provide a written statement that at all times when hunting or target shooting , said minor will be accompanied by a person 17 years of age or older; OR
  •  Show a certificate of competency from the Massachusetts Hunter Education Program or an approved certificate from another state which was issued not more than 3 years prior to his/her 15th birthday; OR
  •  A valid F.I.D. Card.
Fishing and Hunting Licenses may also be obtained online at the Massachusetts Department of Fish and Game.
